This book is a true story of a real Georgia Sweet Potato Queen growing up in the South. The book contains real-life events that happened and depicts the fear and anxiety the main character exhibits. When her brother was tortured and murdered at twenty years old, her view of the world was changed forever. Whoever killed and burned him in his home was still watching and following her sister and her. These events and memories reveal secrets, betrayals, obsessions, forgiveness, family traumas, perseverance, tragedies, and triumphs. The anticipation of what terrible things would happen next filled her with the inability to enjoy the good things in her life and also interfered with her ability to make adequate and present-day decisions.

Trapped in Fear exemplifies the emotional and spiritual battle raging in her as she is challenged by life's unexpected tragedies. She encounters many life-threatening experiences and is exposed to dangerous and terrifying situations.
