JoAnn Chirico is a Senior Instructor of Sociology at The Pennsylvania State University--Beaver. JoAnn regularly teaches her department's large-enrollment introductory courses: intro sociology, social problems, intro to criminology, family sociology, and gender. Before getting her Ph.D.in sociology at University of Pittsburgh, she earned a Masters in Education and has also taught a number of courses for pre-service teachers, such as educational measurement and teaching strategies. She is the author of two other books for SAGE: Globalization: Prospects and Problems (c. 2014) and Sociological Research Exercises for the Global Age (c. 2009).
